A big thanks to the volunteers who came out yesterday to help with the infill planting yesterday at the Eco-Patch!

A month ago or so, Alex and Nicki assessed each plot of the Eco-Patch to determine which plants should be added to fulfill the aesthetic and ecological vision of each test plot. Reasons for the infill planting included: replacement of plants that died during the water shutoff the garden experienced; poor establishment of some species due to poor health at the time of the initial planting; infill of species where growth wasn’t as fast as expected; and the addition of plants that weren’t available at the time of the initial planting.

There was a great turn out and the work was completed with plenty of time to spare. The test plots are looking green and beautiful after all that rain. Looking forward to spring!!!!
